Do you want to know the Scientific meaning of Gayatri Mantra? As a Kriya Yogi and a Kriya Yoga Acharya Teacher I want to teach you this…
Since I was a child (oh ho that’s many light years back😊), I was always fascinated with Mantras and somehow the vibration of Om sounded good but I really felt that if Om was chanted inward would have a therapeutic effect! And of course that was confirmed while learning Kriya Yoga that internal chanting had an Energy healing effect on the organs and the aura and the physical self!
And of course came the Gayatri Mantra which was done at every prayer meeting and celebrations and the best of all to my Sun God (am I so possessive? —I just love His vibrant energy) offering him salutations is by chanting it all the time—numbers do not matter!
Om Bhuh Bhuvah Swah
Tat Savitur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasaya Dheemahi
Dhio Yo Nah Prachodaya
One finds the interpretations all over but I would like to share it in this blog the way I follow it with its birth and meaning and its Chakra Healing Process.
If chanted properly, and with its meaning understood, it is perhaps one of the most ancient of the Mantras — and one can Spiritually connect with God realization!
Our Galaxy, The Milky Way has approximately 100,000 million stars — which are similar to our Sun. So, each star has its Solar system like our Sun and there are 100,000 million Galaxies like our milky way. So all of them together form the Cosmos.
As students in class 4, we learnt that the moon (I’m sure The ISRO will ensure that we can have a vacation there soon) revolves and rotates around the earth, and both the earth and moon revolve and rotate around the Sun and the Sun along with its planets revolve around the Galactic centre in 22.5 crore years, No wonder we are all spinning all the time in our thoughts!!
Thus the sound of these heavenly bodies rotating (20,000 mps) was discovered as OM by Brahma Rishi Vishwamitra in Samadhi .This sound was called Naad Brahma by the Rishis as this sound generated a kinetic energy balancing the cosmos, and they identified the light radiating from the stars was Spiritually enlightening!
Now the Scientific Meaning of the Gayatri Mantra, step by step:
- Bhuh – The Earth, Bhuvah – The , Swah – The Galaxies
- Tat – That God, Savitur – The Sun (Star), Varenyam – Worthy of respect
- Bhargo – The Light, Devasaya – The Deity, Dheemahi – do meditate
- Dhio – Intellect, Yo – Who, Nah – we all, Prachodayat – right direction guidance.
Thus, when the earth, planets and the galaxies (Bhuhr, Bhuvah, and Swah) moves at a high velocity the sound OM is produced!
‘So O lord, guide our intellect towards you – right Light of life!’
No wonder the Gayatri Mantra is known as Ved Mata, mother of Vedas.
So enjoy this Mantra, my video is available on the Gayatri Mantra -good idea is to subscribe to my video and The Siddhanath Surya yoga would be part of my Kriya Yoga October workshop.
