Kriya Yoga

Mahavatar Babaji Kundalini Kriya Yoga

If you look for the literal meaning of the word Kriya, it means “complete action”. Kriya Yoga embodies a series of body postures or exercises that combines breathing patterns, locks or bandhs. Kriya Yoga prepares one for deeper concentration, enables superconscious meditation practice and inculcates self-discipline for conscious living.

Kriya Yoga is effective on all three levels which are body, mind, and soul. The aim of this yoga is to strengthen the immune system, regulating bowel movements, improving liver function, balancing the endocrine system, opening the third eye and intuition, open the heart centre, increasing the flexibility of the spine, and many more.

If one practices Kriya for 40 days, it will result in a change of habit. A continuous practice for 90 days will create a new habit, and a continuous practice for 120 days will confirm the new habit. And if one want to control and master the habit, one will need to practice the Kriya each day. Don’t miss one day, otherwise you will have to start counting all over again!

As my Guru Satguru Yogiraj Siddhanath teaches us :

When one practices Kundalini Kriya Yoga, the will and imagination transform the oxygen of breath into life energy and blend it into the spiritual currents of the spine. However, in Kriya Yoga, when you inhale and exhale continuously, oxygen is quickly converted into life energy that recharges the entire body of the Yogi, especially the blood and the lungs with vital sustenance. Kundalini Kriya is a process of converting breath into lifeforce and realizing the body as light. By the perfect performance of Kriya 1,728 times in one posture (i.e., at one time) and by practicing 20,736 Kriyas, a devotee can reach a state of Samadhi

Kundalini Kriya Yoga is also called as Shiv Shakti Kriya Yoga. Thus by Kriya practice one gets the following benefits

Physical strength to help prevent diseases. The physical and spiritual energy flow is dependent on the spine flexibility, thus,
Kriya systematically stimulates all the vertebrae and strengthens our energy, by activating the spinal cord liquids and helps in concentration and memory

Stimulates the Heart Center. Feelings like happiness, connection and well being are dependent in the balance of our mental electromagnetic field.

Some set of exercise focuses on strengthening the Navel. The practice strengthens the abdominal muscles, the core and the third Chakra that is connected with our will power and fire element.

This develops the Pituitary gland, the intuition and the ability to see beyond.

Assist in preventing diseases and strengthening the Aura, eliminate problems connected with digestive system, and enhances the power of projection and protection of the personality.

Kundalini Kriya Yoga balances the polarities that are represented by the inhale and the exhale of breath. Through Prana and Apana breath it enhances the respiratory system and creates a feeling of balance and calmness.
