Kriya Yoga And Himalayan Trip (Contd)

4th march 2006, the date just splashed in front of me. This was when 60 of us, 2 bus loads of Americans, Germans and Indian disciples of my Kriya Guru Yogiraj Satguru Nath set forth from Rishikesh to Rudraprayag. We were joined by a naughty Italian disciple, Ango, having a funny sense of humour which he would babble in Italian and tease and sing with us — a loveable character really.

As we started going uphill, the scenario changed considerably, we saw a lot of monkeys which fascinated our foreign disciples. There was a wisp of cold pure air blowing as the windows were down and the day was clear (thanks to our Guru), sky the purest of blue, I had goose pimples with expectation!

Being a Kriya Yoga Acharya Teacher staying in South Delhi we may have many blessings and many self-created challenges. Traveling to the hills always gives us that break that our heart and soul desires. Its like loosing the bond that frees the bird who just wants to fly. We all seemed to have left our self-created miseries as Nath would always remind us. We were still on the national highway 7 near the Maharaja Band.

We could see the changes in the landscape, more green trees were the cone trees as I recollect, geography recollections tell me these were coniferous and oak trees all along these Gardwal hills.

All 60 of us were happy and of course there were moments of shock on the faces of the German ladies when I told them they could use the fields for relieving themselves, they could not believe that in the 21st century I could dare tell them such nonsense! Hilarious indeed…

As we sing sang our way, we were following the holy river Ganga and we found the Ganga turn into Alaknanda which rises 50 km north of Nanda Devi and Devprayag Rivers unite at Devprayag which is just before Rudraprayag.

We stopped at Srinagar at a local guest house as we had travelled 6 hrs and though we were not tired but full of Josh and looked forward to the continuous fascinating spiritual Satsang with Yogiraj Satguru Nath and all his fascinating tales of Baba Gorakhnath as it was at Rudraprayag where he was given the vision of Babaji as mentioned in detail in his book ‘Wings To Freedom’. (This book is a must if you are aspiring for your spiritual journey. As a Kriya Yoga Acharya Teacher taking workshops in South Delhi, recommend my students to get this book, if you also want one copy, I may able to guide you to get one).

We rested at the guest house and had a splendid Satsang under the bright twinkling stars which seemed to be beckoning us, indeed a fairy-tale land we’d entered, it was moments to be savoured and kept with us forever—the Divine had various ways of showing us parts of him…
