The Four Inseparables

Pam (a south Indian), Buns (a maharastrian), Anji (a Kokanees), &and me (a Punjabi) are the four Inseparables is what we call ourselves.

We met for lunch two days back as Anji had come from out of Delhi and felt ever so relaxed as time sped by reminiscing about our lives and thankfully we were not thrown out of the Café as everybody had left and our lunch had rolled into  tea time, 4 hours had flown by without us being aware of it !

We were so happy being together and we realized how very bonded we were even after 38 years of friendship, in spite of brawls that we have had on countless occasions. Even marriages do not often last that long.

Epicurus has said, “of all things that wisdom provides for living one’s entire life in happiness, the greatest by far is the possession of friendship.”

To again quote, I have always felt that friends are like siblings God never gave us and true friends are bright, beautiful and always in style like diamonds.

So, we really must make time for friends, it’s like soup for the soul. We have to try making new friends and be aware if these are your karmic friends, if they give you joy then they are for you for keeping otherwise then they are lessons that you have missed out in life!

As Gretchen Rubin says, introverts and extroverts benefit whether you are exercising, commuting, or doing homework, everything is more fun in company.

To keep our self-esteem and a sense of identity going, you need a network of relationships for lot of impersonal and personal subjects as I have felt it boosts up the immune system to feel cheerful as one does in retail shopping therapy
(that’s my cheering up switch),

Light till we meet in my next blog
